If you are departing form Manchester’s terminal 2 then there are several places to park your car.

If you are planning on a quick trip or are dropping of a family member then you should head to the terminals short stay car parking area which is located just outside the terminal building in a big multi storey car park. You do not need to book in advance simply turn up and you will be given a parking card, when you are ready to leave the machine will be able to tell you exactly how much you owe. Costs start from £2 for a 30minute period.

If you are leaving for a holiday ad want to park your car in a secure area it is recommended you leave it at the terminal 2 long stay car park. This car park is located away from the terminal. There are free shuttle buses that run to and from the terminal 24 hours a day – but it is worth giving yourself a little extra time to factor in the bus ride.

At this car park you can also simply turn up and park then pay your fee at the end of the holiday. You can pay in cash, or the machines accept payment from all major credit cards.

If you want to save yourself some money it is worth booking online and in advance. Manchester airport website mentions that you can expect savings of up to 50% if you do it this way!

If you are arriving early and need somewhere to stay near to the airport, or if you are travelling and want to rest before an early flight then it is often nice to book a hotel for the night. Luckily Manchester airport is very considerate to its travellers as there are many hotels conveniently located to the airport.

If you are looking for something economical then the Britannia Ashford hotel is for you. It is located within 3 miles of the airport on a pretty bowling green. Although it is not 5 star luxury it still offers a comfortable and clean place to get a good nights sleep. Rooms start from just £30 a night and if you are driving you can park nearby for just £2 a day which is great value!

If you want a more stylish hotel, check out Radisson SAS hotel which is located extremely close to the airport. This four star hotel offers everything you need to have a pleasant stay, including complimentary WIFI. There is also a beauty salon, steam room and gym so you can pamper yourself and feel totally relaxed before your flight! And with it being located so nearby you can jump on the sky train to get between terminals.

To get to and from the hotels and the airport you can either get a taxi from outside the terminal, or you an rent a hire car. The rental companies are located inside the terminal – you can book directly there, or for better savings book online in advance. Have a great trip!
