People in cities dislike airports. The problem is that they only see the negative points that come with airports. They see only the fact that the aeroplanes cause a lot of noise pollution throughout the day and night, the traffic it brings as people flock to fly off to exotic locations and, of course, the jealousy that comes with seeing hundreds of people returning with tans that you can only dream of (although, of course, this is only a very minor issue). However, this doesn’t change the fact that all airports are built outside the main city centre to avoid all these problems which obviously appeases the people who live there.

However, one of the knock on effects of this on people flying in is the increased travel time and distance when you want to get yourself into the city. Unfortunately, for the vast majority of people who are entering the UK, they have not been able to take advantage of the numerous offers that ore around for public transport which makes it very expensive. The best option, therefore, is to hire a car from the airport. This means that you are able to drive into the city centre very easily and also prevents you from being restrained to one city – you are able drive there instead of having to get around using public transport. This is the best option and means that everyone has the best of both worlds – the residents are not disturbed and you are able to get yourself around.
